JEWELRY ADVERTISING

Miscellaneous Jewelry Ads

Page 1   Page 2

One of the most exciting reference sources for attributing and dating vintage jewelry are the advertisements in vintage magazines from years past. These wonderful old advertisements illustrate how vintage costume jewelry was worn, when it was made, and how it coordinated with the styles of the time. We have also found ads that tell us who made some of the unsigned pieces we all love. You can click on each photograph for a larger view.

Many of these ads were shared courtesy of Julie Scarlett, who sold vintage ads under the seller name papercharm on ebay. An added thanks to Pat Seal, who was the source of the dates for many of them.

"Reja Gardenesque series:  it is possible that the gold-tone/moonstone ones on the bottom row aren't from the Gardenesque series, but the vases are the same perforated metal.  Most of these come in both gold wash and rhodium and the vases on the top row seem to come in flavors of black as well as the cream."

LINKS-Jewelry

PLEASE NOTE: Regretfully, it is no longer possible to respond to individual questions regarding jewelry history, identification or value, or to offer written or verbal appraisals or opinions. The demand for this kind of information is absolutely too overwhelming for one dealer to fill.
I love jewelry, but appraising and selling are two entirely different businesses, and I choose selling as my business.

Instead, articles are added on a regular basis to JEWEL CHAT on line Magazine, a wonderful reference for  information on many makers and styles of vintage jewelry.
