Eisenberg Jewelry

EISENBERG

The Eisenberg company has made jewelry for over eight decades, from the 1930's to the present. Eisenberg marks include "EISENBERG" in all capital block letters, 1945-1958; "Eisenberg Originals" 1935-1945; "Eisenberg Sterling" 1943-1948; and "Eisenberg Ice", 1970-present. Some early Eisenberg pieces are unsigned, and there was also a period in the late 1970s to the 1990s when the company did not mark all of their jewelry.

Eisenberg did not design their own jewelry in-house. Starting in 1940 it was designed by Ruth Kamke, who worked for the manufacturer Fallon and Kappel in New York. She also designed for Panetta later for about 15 years. F&K had a mutually exclusive arrangement. Eisenberg was made only by F&K, and F&K only made Eisenberg.  That all changed in the mid-1970s when F&K suddenly closed. After that it is difficult to determine who designed what.

More information about Eisenberg Jewelry is in Jewel Chat Magazine (click here), and Eisenberg Ads (click here).

EISENBERG sterling and blue rhinestones pendant brooch with an oval faceted clear rhinestone center and accents, 3". Signed on the back "sterling" with the script "E", circa 1940. This is a brilliant piece and one of my favorites. This can be seen in the book, "Eisenberg Originals, The Golden Years of Fashion, Jewelry and Fragrance, 1920s-1950s" by Sharon Schwartz & Laura Sutton on page 58.    View  View   #E21241

It is interesting to see the vintage ad advertising this brooch HERE.  This can be seen in the book, "Eisenberg Originals, The Golden Years of Fashion, Jewelry and Fragrance, 1920s-1950s" by Sharon Schwartz & Laura Sutton on page 49, where they state that the name of this is "Golden King's Ransom, 1941, and in the ad shown at the right.      View   #E35330 EISENBERG sterling with gold wash leaf fur clip with green unfoiled rhinestones with clear rhinestone accents, circa 1940, 3-1/2".   View   #E35331

This same clip can be seen in the book, "Eisenberg Originals, The Golden Years of Fashion, Jewelry and Fragrance, 1920s-1950s" by Sharon Schwartz & Laura Sutton on page 63 where they date it to the 1930's. The clip is 3-1/3" by 1-1/2", and the box with "Eisenberg Original" inside is 4-1/8" by 3-1/3" by 1" deep. The clip is circa 1940 and the stones are still brilliant. The box shows some wear at the corners, but it is just the right thing in which to display this piece.  View   View  View   View   #E39465  EO reproduction, a fake mermaid meant to fool the public.    EISENBERG unsigned fur clip with glass pearls and clear rhinestones set in gold tone metal, 3-1/2" by 2-5/8". There a light line of glue on a pearl on the back only, nothing distracting. PLEASE NOTE: Regretfully, it is no longer possible to respond to individual questions regarding jewelry history, identification or value, or to offer written or verbal appraisals or opinions. The demand for this kind of information is absolutely too overwhelming for one dealer to fill.
I love jewelry, but appraising and selling are two entirely different businesses, and I choose selling and research as my business.

Instead, articles are added on a regular basis to JEWEL CHAT on line Magazine, a wonderful reference for  information on many makers and styles of vintage jewelry.
