VICTORIAN 9 carat and agate oval pendant with insect detailed on top, very rare, circa 1870, 2-1/2" total length by 1-1/3" wide.   View   View   #V33021

 

 

VICTORIAN NCR Company marked silver gilt bee motif set- a spectacular pendant, collar and earrings with a three-dimensional bee motif. The detail in this is so fine, better than pictures can show. On each piece, the detailed bee sits atop a puffy oval with lovely dangles beneath. The collar itself has the front of each link decorated with ferns and scrolls and a beaded edge. The collar is 15" by 5/8"wide; the pendant body is 1" by 1-1/3", total length 2-1/2 from top of loop to bottom of dangles; the brooch is 1-1/4" by 1-3/4" total; and the earrings are 2-1/2" total length by 3/4" wide.   View   View   View   View   View   View   View   #V34178

  BARCLAY brooch of green enameled leaves, red enameled ladybug and clear rhinestone pave pods, a large 3-5/8" by 3". Barclay jewelry was made by by Rice-Weiner, Alvin and Robert Rice, Louis Mark, circa 1950, Rhode Island. This brooch is unsigned but came from the company archives.  View   #X23718    It comes with the BARCLAY original design art work for this brooch. It is interesting to see that the original idea was for the pods to be green enamel, but in the finished brooch leaves are green instead. The design process of jewelry is documented here.
