VICTORIAN sterling
love token charm bracelet. The 1880's engraved coins were decorated by hand to
create floral motifs and initials. Pieces like this are often called
"sweetheart jewelry", the idea being that sailors did these on board their
ship to bring back to their sweethearts, though these coins can be seen for
sale in some Victorian catalogues as well. Circa 1880.
